SCBL Crowns it's Champ

After the White Sox decidedly won the first two games of a double header to start the Finals Series best of 5, the Red Sox took the next three consecutive, nail biting (one extra inning, one walk off and the last holding off a WS rally in the 9th), must win games to win their 3rd straight SCBL Title.  Simply put the Red Sox out hit the White Sox, finding all the holes in the field when it counted most.  Solid Red Sox defense in the last three games complimented their pitchers' ability to keep the White Sox offense just off balance enough to win the three games by only a few runs total.  The White Sox hit the ball well, but always seemed to find an outfielder's glove, or an infielder filling a gap to make great plays to hold off the WS offensive attack.

A good, clean, very sportsman-like series was played by both teams; great to watch and play in.

Even though the Red Sox roster has changed quite a bit over the years, this title marks their league leading 4th Championship.

Even though the White Sox have appeared in every Championship series, except 2, since the league's inception, the WS were held, once again to their 2 titles overall.

Looking for new teams and players!!!!

Thinking of playing ball next year?  Want to start a team?  It's not that hard, and now is the best time to start.  Take a look at the description of the league below to see if the SCBL is a good fit for you and some friends.  Keep in mind you don't need a full roster to talk to us about a team....we always have players looking for a team at the start of each season, so the league will help you build it!

You don't need to play softball!!!!!

Wood Bat Baseball is still alive in the South Coast!!!!

Thanks for your interest,

League Overview

The South Coast Baseball League (SCBL) is a men's wood bat baseball league that plays two or three games a week. The league is an 18 and older adult baseball league and plays in the South Coast Massachusetts area. The league is regulated by MIAA baseball rules and official patched umpires. The rules are in accordance with the MIAA rules with the exception of the use of wood bats and a few minor rule changes to speed the game.  We generally play Monday through Friday with games starting at 530pm.  Fees vary by team, but generally run $200 to $230 for the 20 game seasons, not including uniforms which vary in cost per team, and two rounds of playoffs: a 3 game playoff and a 5 game final series.  Rosters are a minimum of 13 and usually stay around that number in order to keep playing time per player at a maximum.  We have a lot of fun and take it very seriously at the same time.  Let us know if you have more questions
